Abstract:

The image in a plasma display panel is formed when a mixture of several rare gases are activated and discharged .and Xe is excited. Because of limitation as to the increase Xe gas, the luminous efficiency of PDP is lower than that of cathode ray tube (CRT). In this paper we show by numerical simulation that the excitation efficiency in He-Xe mixture is lower than that in a Ne-Xe mixture. Unlike the case of Ne-Xe mixture adding a small amount of Ar to He-Xe mixtures does not enhance cell excitation efficiency effectively. However employing He-Xe is useful when color purity in the plasma display panel is desired.

Xe and 3 He

Time reversal and parity non-invariant interactions within an atom naturally give rise to an atomic permanent electric dipole moment (PEDM). For noble gas atoms, the size of such a PEDM scales as Z 2 and higher powers of Z depending on the actual manifestation of T non-invariance, most importantly a distribution of electric dipole moment within the nucleus (Schiff Moment) and a T-odd tensor int...

Effect of He/Ne/Ar on EUV emission and Xe plasma pumped by capillary discharge

The influence of the He, Ne and Ar on Xe plasma pumped by capillary discharge process is studied theoretically and experimentally. The charge-state populations and average ionization of Xe as a function of electron temperature for pure Xe and mixed gases are calculated with a collision-radiation model. The emission of Xe 4d-4d5p 13.5 nm in 2% bandwidth is obtained by a EUV emission monitor (E-M...

Ar+ and Xe+ velocities near the presheath-sheath boundary in an Ar/Xe discharge.

The velocities of Ar+ and Xe+ ions near the presheath-sheath boundary in an Ar/Xe discharge are studied by particle-in-cell Monte Carlo simulation. For a pure argon discharge the argon ion has almost the same velocity profile as it does in the mixture of argon and xenon. Similarly, for a xenon discharge the xenon ion has almost the same velocity profile as it does in the mixture of argon and xe...

Rb-Xe spin relaxation in dilute Xe mixtures

We present measurements of spin-relaxation of Rb atoms in He(98%)-N2(1%)-Xe(1%) mixtures similar to those used in magnetic resonance imaging polarizers. The pressure dependence allows us to separate out contributions from Rb-Xe van der Waals molecules and binary collisions. For the first time, we observe the predicted increase in the molecular contribution at high pressure. Our data suggest tha...

XE Design Rationale : Clu

XE is a programming language designed and implemented at the Helsinki University of Technology by the ExBed project. The design of XE is based on the CLU programming language. This paper discusses diierences between the two languages and the design decisions of XE. The XE language Arkk89] and its programming environment have been developed within the ExBed project, which was established to deve...
